Promoting and protecting the health of people and their communities is the primary goal of public health. The present and future mental and physical health of individuals, families, communities, groups, and society are encompassed by these broader issues. Experts in public health must be involved in this matter. Established in 1980, the mission of the Public Health Association of Bangladesh (PHAB) is to promote health awareness and education throughout the country. public health infrastructure, disease control, international health,  tobacco control, food safety, hunger, nutrition, climate change and other environmental health concerns, as well as ensuring access to healthcare and obtaining financing for vital public health programs and services are all important aspects of public health.

To advance the public health movement and foster a conducive environment for healthy living, PHAB will host an international public health conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 08 June 2024. The conference is centered around the theme of "Investment in Public Health towards bridging the gap."
